Scotiabank Arena, Toronto’s signature sports arena, is set to mark its 25th anniversary on February 20th.

To celebrate this milestone, the arena is inviting the community to a special event that allows fans to skate on the ice of the Toronto Maple Leafs and enjoy a shootaround at the Toronto Raptors’ practice court.
For a nominal $5 donation to the MLSE Foundation, enthusiasts can secure their participation in this unique experience, with sessions available from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the day of the event.
This event is intended to serve as a gesture of appreciation towards the fans who’ve supported the venue over the years. Per the news release, Maple Leafs and Raptors alumni will participate in the event sharing experiences from their moments at Scotiabank Arena.
“Over the past 25 years, we have had the privileged of hosting over 80 million fans at over 5,000 events from multiple NHL and NBA playoff runs, to best-selling shows and concerts, to most recently the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend,” said Cynthia Devine, President & Chief Executive Officer, MLSE in a news release.
Scotiabank Arena, initially inaugurated as Air Canada Centre in 1999, quickly became a cornerstone of Toronto’s sports and cultural scene. From hosting its first NHL and NBA games to converting into a concert venue for The Tragically Hip, the arena has witnessed numerous iconic moments.
MLSE previously announced a substantial Venue Reimagination project for Scotiabank Arena, with an investment exceeding $350 million to enhance the venue’s facilities and services. The first phase of this project was completed last summer, focusing on the 200 Level Mastercard Executive Suites and concourse technology, setting the stage for further developments such as the Tunnel Club and additional retail spaces planned for the coming summer.
This ambitious project is led by the collaborative efforts of PCL Construction and Brisbin, Brook, Beynon Architects, the original architects behind the venue’s construction.
