The 2024/25 Main Mirvish Theatre Season in Toronto is set to dazzle with a lineup of seven spectacular productions, blending the charm of beloved classics with the thrill of new hits.

At the heart of the season are two timeless favourites that have previously captivated Toronto audiences: Disney’s “The Lion King” and “Mamma Mia!” Both shows, which originally had extended runs starting in 2000, are making a much-anticipated return to enchant a new generation.
Among the season’s highlights is the Canadian premiere of “Life of Pi,” a stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s best-selling novel, celebrated for its mesmerizing visuals and storytelling, following an extraordinary journey of survival at sea. “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” another Canadian premiere, promises a high-energy spectacle of romance and glamour, bringing Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film to life on stage.
“Beetlejuice,” based on Tim Burton’s film, and “Back to the Future: The Musical,” an adaptation of the iconic movie, are set to offer audiences a blend of nostalgia, innovation, and sheer entertainment. These productions, along with a yet-to-be-announced seventh show, underscore the season’s diverse appeal, from magical realism and timeless narratives to groundbreaking visual and musical experiences.
2024/25 Main Mirvish Theatre Season
- Life of Pi kicks off the season, a Canadian premiere that brings Yann Martel’s best-selling novel and its Oscar-winning film adaptation to life. This production, celebrated for its breathtaking visuals and puppetry, tells the story of Pi’s survival at sea with a Bengal tiger, offering audiences a mesmerizing experience of hope and endurance. - Mamma Mia! returns to Toronto with its heartwarming tale woven through ABBA’s greatest hits. - Disney’s “The Lion King revisits the Princess of Wales Theatre, continuing to awe with its stunning visual artistry and the unforgettable music that has made it one of the most beloved productions worldwide. - Moulin Rouge! The Musical, a Canadian premiere, immerses audiences in a world of splendor, romance, and eye-popping spectacle. Based on Baz Luhrmann’s film, this Tony Award-winning musical is a high-energy celebration of Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and Love, set against the backdrop of the legendary Parisian cabaret. - Beetlejuice, another Canadian premiere directed by Alex Timbers, offers a hysterical and irreverent adaptation of Tim Burton’s film. The story of Lydia Deetz and her encounter with the titular ghost-with-the-most combines outlandish scenic design with a touching narrative on family and love, all wrapped in a wildly entertaining package.
