Camping in Northern Alberta
The Boreal Forest has a lot to offer in terms of weekend summer recreation. And this is important if you want to head north for a camping trip, as the forest takes up most of northern Alberta.
- The Lakeland Provincial Recreation Area’s Pinehurst Campground has many sites available for next weekend. The sites are in a shady and secluded location next to Pinehurst Lake.
- Young’s Point Provincial Park has over 80 campsites available. The park offers a peaceful setting for paddles, walks, or bike rides.
- Saskatoon Island Provincial Park has over 60 campsites remaining for next weekend, many of which are right on the shoreline. The park is excellent for wildlife and bird viewing or photography and hiking, with 14km of trails.
