For shoppers who have not come across the brand before, it is a Danish discount lifestyle retailer built around affordable, design-focused everyday items. Its shelves typically include home décor, stationery, kitchenware, toys, crafts, party supplies, seasonal collections, and gift items that change often.
The Toronto opening marks the company’s Canadian debut and the beginning of a wider local rollout. More Flying Tiger Copenhagen stores are planned across the Greater Toronto Area throughout 2026.
The retailer was founded in Copenhagen in 1995 and has since grown into an international chain with more than 1,000 stores across 41 markets. Its expansion outside Europe began in 2012, when it opened a store in Japan.
At CF Toronto Eaton Centre, the new store gives Canadian shoppers their first look at the brand’s mix of colourful products and accessible prices. The concept is less about a standard shopping list and more about browsing, with customers likely to find practical household pieces alongside playful, unexpected items.
