Sponsored by Bell, this service will expand to long-haul international routes in 2026, marking a significant step in enhancing connectivity for travellers.
The airline’s fleet-wide connectivity upgrades are in advanced stages, with installation expected to finish next year. Over 85% of aircraft will be equipped with the service at launch, and the remainder will follow by the end of 2025. The initiative also includes plans to provide Wi-Fi on Air Canada Express Q400 aircraft, including flights to and from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, making it the first to offer this service on a Q400 model.
Aeroplan Members will enjoy gate-to-gate access to reliable, streaming-quality Wi-Fi on Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and most Air Canada Express aircraft. For non-members, Wi-Fi will be available for purchase at a reduced flat rate.
“This initiative addresses the growing demand for reliable streaming-quality Wi-Fi,” said Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Digital at Air Canada and President of Aeroplan. He highlighted the airline’s commitment to fleet-wide connectivity and compared its rollout pace to competitors.
Next year, Air Canada will introduce a baggage fee for checked luggage for basic fare travellers.
