Halifax Urban Folk Festival (HUFF) is back with a bang for its 14th edition, and this year’s lineup is nothing short of exceptional.
The festival, known for its celebration of singers, songs, and stories, will feature renowned international and Canadian songwriters at The Carleton in Halifax from September 24 to October 1.
The headliners for this year’s festival are a treat for music enthusiasts. Mary Gauthier, a legendary singer-songwriter, will grace the stage alongside Bobby Bare Jr., an indie rocker with killer solo albums, and Tommy Stinson, a founding member of The Replacements and former lead guitarist of Guns & Roses.
The festival has also teamed up with the Prismatic Festival to present an afternoon show on National Truth and Reconciliation Day, creating a unique and diverse musical experience.
The festival promises eight nights of incredible music, including performances by Grace Petrie, Tara MacLean, Joe H. Henry, Pretty Archie, The Hello Darlins, Anyma, Leonard Sumner, and more.
Not limited to a single venue, HUFF will also host performances at the Green Room Patio, Brightwood Brewery, and the Sanctuary Arts Centre in Dartmouth.
Tickets for all HUFF shows at The Carleton go on sale tomorrow, Friday, June 30 at 10 a.m.
The organizers have made some changes this year, shifting the festival from the Labour Day long weekend to late September and early October. This decision allows more flexibility for artists, supporters, and families while ensuring a pleasant weather experience for out-of-town performers.
So mark your calendars, grab your friends, and get ready to immerse yourself in the joyous world of folk music at the Halifax Urban Folk Festival.
