Located near Peggy’s Cove and less than an hour from Downtown Halifax, Oceanstone Resort, a year-round coastal destination and popular venue for weddings and retreats, has opened Nova Scotia’s newest Hydrothermal Spa.

Oceanstone Seaside Resort
This unique boutique spa is nestled into the stunning natural landscape of Oceanstone and aims to provide visitors with a rejuvenating East Coast experience.
The Hydrothermal Spa, described by Oceanstone owner Dean Leland as “a little slice of seaside heaven,” is designed to promote wellness from within. It offers an extensive spa menu, including several treatment huts, a meditation den, and an experience shower.
The spa features two warm vitality pools, an arctic plunge pool, a Kneipp River walk, a salt-inhalation hammam, an aromatherapy sauna, outdoor showers, fireside recovery areas, and beautifully designed garden spaces for relaxation. Additionally, the spa includes a nourishment and hydration area and a state-of-the-art fitness facility.

Leland’s vision for the Hydrothermal Spa was to create a world-class facility that would be accessible to all. To bring this vision to life, Leland enlisted the expertise of architect Vincent den Hartog, known for his work at Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Leland also partnered with Core Essence, a wellness design and advisory firm founded by sisters Jennifer and Kathryn Findlay, who connected the project with renowned health and wellness vendors and partners.
Per the news release, the spa incorporates sustainable practices and locally sourced materials. The construction of the spa was carried out by RCS Construction, a Nova Scotia-owned company. The resort’s commitment to supporting the local community extends to employment opportunities, with the Hydrothermal Spa set to employ approximately 20 professionals.
Visitors can book their Hydrothermal Spa journey online, and the resort hopes to inspire guests with its Nova Scotian environment, incorporating local design elements alongside leading international health and wellness brands.
The Hydrothermal Spa also provides well-equipped changing rooms with showers, bathrooms, lockers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions, blow dryers, and hair ties.
For those looking for treatments, there are two separate double treatment rooms available, allowing friends or partners to book treatments together.
A spa menu is offered, but food and beverages are not permitted within the pools, sauna, or hammam.
The best part, the spa facility is fully accessible.
Trip Planning: Oceanstone Resort’s Hydrothermal Spa
