Calgary Corporate Challenge
Presented by the Calgary Corporate Challenge, this exciting event is a charity fundraiser raising money for 10 local charities.
In the Human Bonspiel event, the “human rock” launched by team members slides down the ice on an inflatable, and scores points based on the team slide closest to the button!
This is how it works:
Calgary Corporate Challenge Human Bonspiel takes place from February 27 to March 3.
Participating teams will consist of four members and will compete on the ice by sliding down on tubes towards the button, with the goal of landing as close as possible. The individual scores of each team member will be calculated based on the distance their tube lands from the button. The team with the lowest overall score after two preliminary rounds will be crowned the winner.
Before the tournament begins, teams are expected to arrive at Olympic Plaza between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on their scheduled sliding date. All team members must have read and agreed to the waiver, and will have the opportunity to practice on the ice before the tournament starts at 12:00 p.m.
At the end of each round, individual scores will be added together to determine the team’s overall score. After the two preliminary rounds, the 5 teams with the lowest overall scores will advance to Slide-Offs, a single additional round where each team member slides one more time. The results will be based on the team’s cumulative distance from the button.
The teams that place in the Top 3 positions of the day will be invited back to compete on Finals Day against the other top-ranked teams from their respective event dates. This exciting finale will determine the ultimate Human Bonspiel champions.
Participating in this event is an excellent opportunity for you to have some fun while also giving back to the community. Teams can register online for $250 per team of 4, and all proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting 10 local charities.
