McDonald’s is stirring nostalgia with its latest offering – the Kerwin Frost Box.

CNW Group/McDonald’s Canada
This new product, set to launch in Canada and selected global markets from December 11 for a limited time, marks a unique collaboration with artist Kerwin Frost.
Kerwin Frost, a multifaceted artist known for his contributions to fashion and music, has always been a McDonald’s aficionado. In this partnership, he brings his creative expertise to the table, infusing the Kerwin Frost Box with a sense of individuality and nostalgia.
The box offers a choice between 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac, accompanied by fries and a drink. However, the centerpiece of this collaboration is the McNugget Buddy collectible, making a comeback after more than 25 years, now reenvisioned by Frost.
Inspired by his own collection of McNugget Buddies from his days growing up in Harlem, Frost has created a unique world named “Frost Way.”
The concept centers around self-expression and inclusivity, reflected in the unique designs and mix-and-match outfits of the Buddies.
The collection features diverse characters like:
- Kerwin Frost, portrayed as the Mayor of Frost Way, advocates for individuality,
- Don Bernice, known as the Wise Stylist, is the creative force behind the Buddies’ fashion,
- Uptown Moe, the Neighborhood Hero, is a familiar and motivational figure,
- Waffutu, the Curious Optimist, embodies positivity
- BRRRICK, the Cool Guy, is known for his adventurous spirit.
- Darla, the Dreamer, is a singer and dedicated McDonald’s employee pursuing her aspirations in Frost Way.
Alyssa Buetikofer, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s Canada, acknowledges the brand’s long-standing role in bringing joy to its patrons. The Kerwin Frost Box is seen as a way to revitalize the McNugget Buddies, originally introduced in 1988, renowned for their unique adventures and personalities.
