Instead of viewing Tutankhamun’s treasures in museum cases, Calgary visitors will soon be able to experience his story through towering projections, sound, archival photography and recreated artifacts.

Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience will take over the former Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame building at WinSport Canada Olympic Park from December 12, 2026, to February 7, 2027.
What Will You See?
Per the news release, you move through a sequence of recreated environments inspired by the treasures found in Tutankhamun’s tomb. Projection mapping and archival images provide much of the visual storytelling, with the experience eventually leading to a cinematic presentation viewed from a boat-shaped seating area.

Unlike a traditional museum exhibition, there are no authentic Egyptian artifacts on display. The focus is on immersive storytelling, with replicas and digital imagery used to explore the world and story of Tutankhamun.
This will be the touring exhibition’s first stop in Calgary and its second in Canada following Vancouver.

The exhibition is designed for all ages, with ticket categories ranging from infants to seniors. Families with very young children should know that strollers and prams cannot be taken through the exhibition, although a designated storage area will be provided.
