It’s cold outside, Canada and there is no better way to warm up than with La Poutine Week.

La Poutine Week – a week long food festival taking place from February 1st until February 7h celebrating the great French-Canadian classic – poutine! Brought to you by the geniuses behind Le Burger Week, this year, the festival has expanded across the Great White North. It features over many participating restaurants in major cities of Canada.

In each city, each participating restaurant is asked to create a unique poutine that is reflective of their overall concept and cuisine.

Offered at a special “poutine price”, poutine-lovers are encouraged to try the tasty creations and then vote for their favourites on LaPoutineWeek.com. At the end of the festival, each city will announce their respective winners in the following categories; – “The Judge’s Choice” – where a panel of poutine- expert judges will carefully determine which participating restaurant’s poutine they were most impressed with; “The Most Original Poutine”; awarded to the restaurant with the most original and creative poutine; and, Best Poutine Award”; where all poutine-lover participants are called upon to vote online (www.lapoutineweek.com) for their city’s most beloved poutine.

This year, festival-goers will also be able to rack up YUM points and redeem them for poutines throughout the week-long event. Different ways to earn YUMS include: signing up for La Poutine Week, voting for poutines, tagging @LaPoutineWeek on Instagram and making a transaction on the festival’s website.. Those with the most “YUMS” will qualify to win DoorDash gift cards ranging from $100 to $500.

La Poutine Week is not possible without co-founders Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam. After the tremendous success of their Le Burger Week, the Montreal entrepreneurs launched the poutine-focused festival in La belle province in 2012. It was an instantaneous hit – with over 20,000 poutine-lovers flocking towards the 40 participating restaurants across Quebec!

Participating cities include: Banff, Calgary, Charlottetown, Churchill, Edmonton, Fredericton, Gatineau, Halifax, Kelowna, Moncton, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Prince Albert, Quebec City, Regina, Saint John, Saskatoon, St. John’s, Surrey, Sydney, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
