Le Burger Week, presented by Saputo and Sysco and delivered with DoorDash, is back for its milestone 10th anniversary!

Since taking the nation by storm last year, burger lovers across Canada have explored new and innovative food joints and tasted the best burgers their city has to offer. Growing from a single competition in Montreal to a national festival with over 200 000 participants – Le Burger Week is now one of the most buzzed-about food festivals in Canada!

In honour of its 10th anniversary, Le Burger Week is adding an extra week to the festival and will host more than 1,000 restaurants across the country – making this the largest burger event ever held in Canada.

Restaurants, diners, and burger joints everywhere bring their A-game to this festival, after working all year to develop new dishes, or perfecting fan-favourites and old classics.

To throw their hat in the ring, each participating spot must develop a unique burger reflective of their overall concept, style, and cuisine. These competition burgers are then offered at a special “burger price”, for the public to taste and cast their votes on leburgerweek.com. At the end of the festival, burgers in each city will be crowned champions in various categories such as: the ‘People’s Choice’, the ‘Most Creative’ and the ‘Healthiest Burger’. Le Burger Week also sends undercover tasters all over the country to award the ‘Judges Choice’ title. Don’t miss out on crowning Canada’s best burgers!

For restaurants, that participate – Le Burger Week’s official cheese partner, Saputo will be providing a variety of delicious cheeses, from classic Mozzarella to fresh goat cheese, to their new, vegan-certified Dairy-Free Mozzarella Flavoured Shreds, and more. Sysco, Canada’s food distribution service, also joins Le Burger Week 2021 as a presenting partner in helping provide support to different restaurants across the country.

Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam

Created by Montreal-based entrepreneurs Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam, Le Burger Week was first and foremost developed due to Na’eem and Thierry’s love of burgers! Soon after, they recognized the economic opportunities for local businesses that derived from the festival; most notably providing restaurants with the chance to build greater public awareness through their participation.

This year, Burger Week will be supporting Anorexia and Bulimia Québec (ANEB), a Quebec-based organization that aims to fight and destigmatize eating disorders and, United Way Canada, a national non-profit organization that works to raise funds and invest in improving lives in local communities!

Through Le Burger Week, a percentage of every burger sold at a participating restaurant will be donated back to these organizations. People Mover Mover Tech, which hosts Le Burger Week, La Poutine Week and La Pizza Week, has raised over $350,000 over the years to different charities through their restaurant partnerships.

Is it too late to join in on this? If so, is there a cost? Regulations for COVID? If it is too late to join in, is there another way that a business could potentially help out?
