At this launch of Outliers: Queer History in Calgary, you will be the first to see this new exhibit’s fascinating exploration – through artifacts, ephemera, video, newspaper clippings, photographs and more – of more than 50 years of queer culture and activism in Calgary.
This exhibit, created by Lougheed House and Calgary Queer Arts Society, moves viewers through an inspiring, magical, overwhelming journey from the dark days of the state’s persecution of Calgary bus driver Everett Klippert and traumas like conversion therapy, AIDS/HIV and homophobia to the rise of the defiantly independent
