Heat warnings have been issued in various regions, including Bonnyville, St. Paul, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Drayton Valley, Devon, Rimbey, Pigeon Lake, Fort McMurray, Fort MacKay, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, Redwater, Smoky Lake, Leduc, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Tofield, Spruce Grove, Morinville, Mayerthorpe, Evansburg, Westlock, Barrhead, and Athabasca.

The warning is due to temperatures expected to reach 29 degrees Celsius during the day, with overnight lows near 14 degrees Celsius.

Environment Canada advises residents and visitors to take precautions to protect themselves, their families, and their neighbours.

These include rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day, taking frequent breaks from the heat, drinking plenty of water and other non-alcoholic beverages, and checking for children and pets before exiting a vehicle.

Heat stroke and heat exhaustion symptoms should be monitored, particularly for those who may be more susceptible, including infants, children, seniors, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions.
