Last month, the restaurant openings in Edmonton included places that introduce us to completely new dishes! Plus, there will be two Edmonton-dining-favourites with new southside locations this June.
A few special June events will lend us some extra special dining experiences. From Father’s Day, and the local Pride celebrations are even more ways to experience new food in Edmonton.
Recent Restaurant Openings in Edmonton
Okinawa Onigiri
This new dining experience and restaurant in Edmonton promises an authentic taste of Okinawa through their onigiri plates. For those unfamiliar with onigiri, it is a form of rice sandwich with various filling options made in the style of sushi in that the sandwiches are pressed together and held together with large pieces of seaweed. Egg, cheese, and meats are some of the main filling options, along with vegetables.

Odd Burger
Odd Burger just recently celebrated the grand opening of their first Edmonton location in Mayfield Common with plans well under way for their next on Ellerslie Road. This brand new burger spot, with locations across Canada, cannot be called a hamburger spot. Rather, Odd Burger focuses on creating mouthwatering burgers from all vegetarian and vegan ingredients. These burgers come dressed and piled high with all the classic ingredients, too. Plus, Odd Burger offer a number of other dishes like souvlaki and gyro.

Moxie’s
Moxie’s is back in South Edmonton Common! After the location by the IKEA shut down, we weren’t sure if Moxie’s would return to the shopping district. After a few years of wait, the restaurant chain has a beautiful new location in a different part of the Common, closer to 23rd Avenue and the Canadian Tire.
