Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society

From June’s Lawnya Vawnya Music Festival to August’s IronFest, there is something for everyone.

Lawnya Vawnya Music Festival

 

This is a multi-day festival that focuses on presenting some of the most innovative independent music and art from St. John’s and across Canada.

A diverse lineup featuring acts like Slash Need, ÉBONY, Narcy, Fiver with the Fiver Trois, and G̱a̱mksimoon joins a packed schedule of music, film, and literary events. Artists such as AEXEL, Cable TV, Chump, fanclubwallet, JayWood, Kiwi Jr., Miesha and the Spanks, Sick Puppy, UZU أوزو, Zaynab Wilson, are also scheduled to appear, alongside workshops, panels, a downtown music crawl, and a merchandise and print fair. From punk bands to film screenings and reading series, the event brings together a wide range of talent across music, literature, and visual arts.

Iceberg Alley Performance Tent

The Iceberg Alley Performance Tent is a ten-day Festival that was created to showcase the unique heritage, culture, and traditions of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tuckamore Festival

 
Since 2001, the Tuckamore festival has offered both an outstanding concert series featuring top-tier classical artists and an educational program for emerging young performers and composers.

Featured artists and programs include Duo Concertante, Trio Bessette-Djokic-Dominguez with Louise Bessette, Marc Djokic, and Chloé Dominguez, Heather Tuach & Kate Read, Violaine Melançon, Angela Pickett, Jon Kimura Parker, Matthew Byrne & Dave Paddon, Brentano String Quartet, Tom Allen: Brahms in New York, and the Tuckamore Young Artists.

Southern Shore Shamrock Festival

 
The annual Southern Shore Shamrock Festival offers the finest in traditional Newfoundland/Irish music. Enjoy concerts featuring local and established musicians, as well as the annual art exhibition. The festival is located in close proximity to Ferryland’s scenic beaches, Archaeological Dig, Ferryland Museum, church, and lighthouse.

Churchill Park Music Festival

Great music is even better in beautiful Churchill Park, with wide open views, surrounded by mature trees and lush greenery.

On Saturday, July 18, fans can enjoy performances by The Chicks, Elle King, and Amanda Marshall. On Friday, July 24, the stage will feature Keith Urban, Russell Dickerson, and Dallas Smith. With more acts to be announced, these concerts promise non-stop energy and epic performances.

The George Street Festival brings major live music acts and thousands of fans together for a high-energy summer celebration in the heart of downtown.
