Ontario has launched a new way for hunters and anglers across the province to get their Outdoors Cards and hunting and fishing licensing products.

With the new licensing system, there won’t be three separate cards for fishing, hunting or apprentice hunters. The new licensing service features a single Outdoors Card, that will enable one to fish or hunt in Ontario. Outdoors Cards come in fishing and hunting versions. First Outdoors Card costs $9.68 plus service fee and tax.

If you want to fish, an Outdoors Card – fishing version is required and an Outdoors Card – hunting version to hunt and fish. In addition, the province will also be revamping the system that allocates moose and bear tags to make moose hunting fairer and more accessible to hunters.

“Our government is making life easier and allowing you to get outdoors quicker,” said John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. “We have launched a new licensing service that makes it easier to buy hunting and fishing licences. It was designed with hunters and anglers in mind.”

It can be accessed online at huntandfishontario.com, at participating ServiceOntario locations or at one of over 700 licence issuers across the province. If you buy your Outdoors Card at an issuer, you will receive a temporary Outdoors Card and licence. You can use these temporary documents immediately; you must carry them with you until you receive your plastic card in the mail.
