Rodney’s Oyster House

Rodney’s Oyster House, the legendary haven for oyster lovers, is hosting The Ontario Oyster Festival and Oyster Opening Championship on July 21, and you don’t want to miss it!

For over 30 years, this festival has brought together oyster enthusiasts to indulge in their favourite shellfish and witness the awe-inspiring skills of the country’s top shuckers. It’s not just about oysters! There’s a live auction, live music, and an impressive lineup of premium spirits, wine, craft beer, and, of course, an abundance of mouthwatering seafood. And the best part? It’s all for a good cause! The fest raises funds for the Ecology Action Centre, a charity dedicated to preserving our precious coastlines and aquatic habitats.

The festival will be held at the usual location at the alley, transforming Rodney’s laneway into a lively and festive gathering spot. Indulge in Rodney’s famous seafood, including oysters, mussels, and lobster. And let’s not forget about the drinks! The festival promises a variety of beverages from numerous wineries, breweries, and distilleries, each available for $5.

Oysters priced at $5 for four pieces, Rodney’s cooked whole lobster for $35, grilled items from Slow Poke Food Co., traditional Mexican cuisine by Pico de Gallo, and Tuscan sandwiches from Tutti Matti restaurant.

Entertainment will be plentiful, with live music from Horshack and a DJ set by DJ Shandy to close out the night.

Tickets are available now. Advance tickets are $40, while door tickets are $55, and they come with two drink tickets and one food item ticket.

Join the Ontario Oyster Festival in its mission to protect our precious oceans, rivers, forests, and wetlands. So let’s shuck, sip, and support a worthy cause.
