The Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool will open on Saturday, May 20, weather permitting.

The Queen Elizabeth pool will open on Tuesday, May 30, followed by the Oliver Outdoor Pool on June 3 and the Borden Natural Swimming Pool on June 10.

However, the Mill Creek Outdoor Pool will remain closed for the season due to ongoing rehabilitation and is expected to reopen in 2024.

Per the news release, swim enthusiasts can reserve a swim time on movelearnplay.ca to ensure quick access during public swims. Reservations are not mandatory but recommended to avoid queues and improve the overall experience. Lane swimming cannot be reserved. Swim start times and schedules are also available on the website. Each site will have four timed entry opportunities per day, with drop-in access depending on site capacity minus the timed entry options.

For the Fred Broadstock pool opening on May 20, timed entries will be available seven days in advance starting from May 13. Children aged 12 years and under can access outdoor pools for free, while admission to these pools is included in all City of Edmonton Recreation Centre memberships. The Summer Youth Pass, which includes access to the pools, will be available for purchase from June 19.

Pool operating hours are subject to change, and pools may close due to inclement weather. Pool status updates are available on Facility Notifications, which are updated daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
