The KW region is home to several pick-your-own apple orchards, offering a variety of fresh apple varieties for visitors to enjoy. These orchards provide a perfect opportunity for families to experience local produce and enjoy seasonal attractions like pumpkin patches and local produce markets.

1. Shuh Orchards

 
Shuh Orchards, a fourth-generation family farm, offers daily “pick your own apples. Spanning 50 acres with 62,000 trees, the orchard grows Gala, Ambrosia, and Honey Crisp apples for Pick Your Own . Wagon rides are available every 90 minutes on weekdays and continuously on weekends.

Hours: Opens September 5, 2026, Daily 9 am to 6 pm

2. Orchard Home Farm

This family-run 80-acre orchard, established in 1949, grows over 20 varieties of apples and pears, including McIntosh, Braeburn, Ambrosia, and Fuji. Orchard Home Farm also offers honey, maple syrup, caramel sauce, sparkling cider, freshly baked pies, and other locally sourced fall favourites like squash and pumpkins.

Hours: Open from Late August to Late October, daily, including weekends and holidays

3. Chudleigh’s Farm

For over 50 years, visiting the farm has been a cherished tradition for many families, offering a taste of country life and the chance to pick from more than 18 varieties of apples. With 47,500 trees spread across 60 acres, the farm invites guests to enjoy the experience of selecting their own apples.

4. Brandwood Farms

Brandwood Farms offers fresh fruits and vegetables, Pick-Your Own strawberries, apples, pumpkins, baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles, and more. Check out their flower field while here.

5. Downey’s Apple Farm

Come enjoy a perfect family day by picking from a variety of delicious apples like McIntosh, Gala, Honey Crisp, Ambrosia, and Red Delicious. Take a relaxing wagon ride, wander through sunflower fields, and let the kids have fun in the play area.

Hours: Currently open for the 2026 season

Open mid-August until October 31, daily except Tuesday from 10 am to 5 pm

6. Brantview Apples & Cider

This is an 8th-generation family-run apple orchard with up to 22 varieties of apples available. In addition, they have an onsite store, featuring hard cider, baked goods, soft cider, apple-related condiments, and already picked apples. They also offer pumpkins seasonally, and a wagon ride seasonally.

Usually open Early-September to mid to late-October, daily

7. Applevale Orchards

Applevale Orchards offers a variety of apples to pick, including Macintosh, Cortland, Sunrise, and Mutsu. The season ends in October with late varieties like Northern Spy, Russet, Idared, and Granny Smith. Additional products offered include cider, honey, pumpkins, and firewood.

8. Wheelbarrow Orchards

Wheelbarrow Orchards offers apple picking, a corn walk, a sunflower walk, rest areas, and photo spots. Visit the market for harvest goodies, Fraser’s Craft Cider, Spark sparkling water, ready-picked apples, maple syrup, honey, frozen pies, and other Ontario products.
