Cineplex has unveiled plans to inaugurate a new Playdium complex at CF Fairview Mall in Toronto, Ontario.

Per the news release, the construction of the entertainment complex located adjacent to the Cineplex Cinemas Fairview Mall entrance, is set to commence next month, with its doors expected to open in late 2024.
Encompassing about 20,000 square feet, the complex will feature an array of tech-enhanced games and attractions, including advanced mini golf, bowling, and a diverse selection of innovative and classic games. Per the news release, the venue is designed to cater to a wide range of skill levels and interests.
“We’re combining the best in entertainment and fast-casual dining by opening a Playdium alongside our Cineplex Cinemas at CF Fairview Mall. Family and friends can come together for movies, gaming and delicious food, in a one stop shop for fun,” said Ellis Jacob, President and CEO, Cineplex in a news release.
“Leveraging our industry-leading expertise in entertainment, amusement gaming and food service, this newly announced Playdium location is sure to become a go-to destination for everyday fun, casual dining and special occasions.”
The Playdium complex will also provide an array of food and beverage choices, including chef-crafted burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, nachos, tacos, and sweet treats. Cineplex says it will be equipped to host large groups, making it an ideal venue for parties, events, and team-building activities, with private rooms available for birthdays and other special gatherings.
This expansion follows Cineplex’s announcement in 2017 to grow the Playdium concept, with locations already operational in Whitby and Brampton, Ontario, and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. These complexes are a part of Cineplex’s Location-based Entertainment venues, which include The Rec Room, currently boasting over ten locations nationwide.
