Popeyes is bringing together two of its familiar menu items in a new sandwich that Canadians can now order for $6.99.
The Honey Chicken Biscuit, available nationwide starting November 2, combines the chain’s crispy fried chicken with a buttermilk biscuit and Canadian honey.
Popeyes says the idea comes from something its customers have apparently been doing themselves for years. Fans have shared their own food combinations on social media, often pairing the restaurant’s fried chicken with its biscuits. Now, the chain has turned that combination into an official menu item.
The sandwich features hand-battered Canadian chicken tucked inside a soft, buttery buttermilk biscuit, with 100 per cent real Canadian honey adding sweetness to the savoury chicken.
Per the news release, unlike a traditional chicken sandwich served on a bun, this version uses Popeyes’ biscuit as the base, bringing a different texture and flavour to the familiar fried chicken filling.
Matt Harper, Head of Marketing at Popeyes Canada, said the company wanted to build on a combination customers were already enjoying.
“This latest creation is a fresh take on a combination our fans already love, brought together in a way that’s exciting, familiar, and unmistakably ours,” Harper said.
