Special Presentation – Tommy Goes to War

The Provincial Capital Commission invites you to join us as we mark Remembrance Day and honour the legacy of the Canadian Forces and the men and women who serve our country with acclaimed story performer Vincent Murphy’s one-person performance, “Tommy Goes to War.”

Set against the backdrop of the Great War (1914-18), this one-man performance offers a poignant and intimate glimpse into the life of Tommy, a young farm boy turned solider as he prepares to face “The War to end all Wars”. Written and performed by Vincent Murphy, Saskatchewan’s own master story performer; Tommy Goes to War is told through the eyes of several characters. This play transports the audience to 1914 and beyond – capturing the essence of the raw emotions, fears and hopes that defined the wartime experience. As we follow Tommy’s journey, we witness the resilience of the members of our armed forces and the legacy and impact of war. Details
