Ride the Christmas Train Near Saskatoon This Holiday Season

Hop aboard Wheatland Express to enjoy Christmas cheer and Saskatchewan’s winter scenery this holiday season.

The train ride, Christmas Excursion, has everything for a family holiday-themed day trip – Christmas cheer, holiday music and Santa himself.  The train sets out from Wakaw and will travel to Cudworth and back in approximately 2 and half hours. 

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the kids during the ride. Little elves will also be on the ride busy creating mischief.  There will be entertainment including caroling, and other festive activities. 

Wheatland Express encourages kids to show up in their cozy pyjamas for this Christmas adventure. 

The train will leave Wakaw at 3 p.m. on December 3rd, 10th, 11th and 17th. Tickets can be booked online and seating is available for 4-top tables with a minimum of 2 seats.

Tours can be postponed depending on the weather, especially if the temperature is -25 deg. C. However, a makeup date is scheduled for December 18th.

If you are looking for a date night experience, then the Wheatland Express also has a Christmas concert train ride featuring singer-songwriter, Donny Parenteau.  ‘Christmas with Donny Parenteau’ train ride tickets include a locally created charcuterie box.

Christmas Excursions — $60.00 – $72.50; Includes a 2-2.5 hour excursion, and hot chocolate with Christmas entertainment throughout.

Christmas with Donny Parenteau —  $400.00; Includes a 2.5-hour train excursion, a charcuterie box for 4 people and musical performances.
