Constructed in 1875, West Point Lighthouse was the first of the Island’s square towers and PEI’s tallest lighthouse at 67 feet tall and features distinctive black and white stripes and a gable roof.
The Lighthouse Inn has 13 spacious rooms. The ten rooms on the first and second floors each feature a beautiful walkout deck overlooking the beach and Northumberland Strait. The Keeper’s Quarters are located where the Lighthouse Keeper’s family lived before the Lighthouse was modernized. The Tower Room is the only room truly inside the lighthouse, and you can hear the soft hum of the light at night. It is located on the second floor above the museum.
The rooms can accommodate 2 to 4 people, depending on the room, and each room is decorated with gorgeous antique furniture. Wake up to a complimentary continental breakfast in the restaurant.
Spend the day relaxing on the beach that is just a short walk from the Inn, or you can go explore nearby at Cedar Dunes Provincial Park. Watch the spectacular sunset over the red sand beach from the walkout deck in each room.
When you see a fire on the beach, check it out because the lighthouse facilitator will be sharing chilling stories.
Home to the Island’s most complete collections of Lighthouse information and memorabilia, the West Point Museum is the perfect place to learn about the long history of the iconic lighthouses that speckle PEI’s coastline.
