Want to send kids to science and math themed camps this spring break? These are few of the options in and around Edmonton.
1. Camps at Telus World of Science
From biology, chemistry, engineering, and math, campers aged 6-7 will get the chance to roll up their sleeves for new adventures every day. This camp has everything from building fake lungs to rubber band helicopters!
Is it magic or is it science? Campers ages 8-9 will learn all about the art of illusion and the science behind it at this camp where Harry Potter meets Bill Nye.
It’s the ultimate gamer challenge: design and construct your own video game! Campers 10-12 will learn to use scratch programming to see their game come to life with characters, levels, stories, and more.
Campers passionate about video games, this is the camp for you! Learn the basics of live gaming, including capturing videos and engineering audio, to create the same kind of gaming that you love to play.
2. WEM Adventure Camp
From helping to prepare their tasty treats to different animal presentations, spend time learning about the critters at Marine Life, from penguins to sharks to sea lions. Then, spend the afternoon at another West Ed attraction, such as Galaxyland.
3. WILDKids Spring Break Day Camp
Where better to learn about Edmonton’s wild life than with a leading wildlife rehabilitation and rescue centre? Campers will learn more about what is involved with rehabilitating rescued animals with education programs and animal encounters. Details

5. Camps at Microsoft Store
Learn to code a talking robot? Sounds like the perfect camp for your young techie! Campers 8+ will learn coding basics and how to use it to make the Ohbot move and talk with lessons and games.
DigiGirlz: Women in Space
This free day camp, designed for girls 11-18, will inspire them to look to the stars! They will learn how coding and computer science skills will mean the sky is no longer the limit and a career in space aeronautics is within reach.
Get your gamer thinking about what goes into video games by making his or her own – that they can play long after the day camp ends! Campers 8+ will learn block coding to create a playable game of their own design.
Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit Workshop
Learn the basic fundamentals of coding to create “spells,” magical creatures, and artefacts, using simple coding blocks on a tablet. Your camper will feel like Harry Potter (or Hermione) when they learn how to make things happen with a few simple steps.
