Summer 2026: Air Canada Ramps Up Mexico Flights from Three Hubs

Air Canada is increasing its focus on Mexico ahead of the Summer 2026 season, adding more seats and a new route as travel and trade links between the two countries continue to grow.

The airline says it will boost seat capacity to Mexico by 18 per cent compared with last summer.

For Summer 2026, it plans to run 10 daily flights from Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver to five Mexican destinations, offering about 1,700 one-way seats per day.

Central to that plan is a new year-round service between Montréal and Guadalajara, beginning June 2, 2026. Flight AC1393 will depart Montréal at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Guadalajara at 8:55 p.m. The return flight, AC1392, leaves Guadalajara at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, landing in Montréal at 3:30 p.m.

Air Canada is also adding frequencies on several existing routes:

  • Montréal–Cancún will increase from seven to 11 weekly flights.
  • Toronto–Monterrey will rise from three to four weekly flights.
  • Vancouver–Mexico City will expand to 11 weekly flights starting June 27, up from seven.
  • Vancouver–Puerto Vallarta will double to two weekly flights.

During peak winter, Air Canada operates up to 30 non-stop flights from eight Canadian cities to 11 Mexican destinations.

Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said Mexico has been part of the airline’s network since 1954 and remains a key market for both passenger and cargo demand. He noted the added capacity is intended to strengthen tourism and commercial ties.
