Head to The Playful Pumpkin Play Cafe during March break for different activities. Each day will have a theme, craft and lots of fun to keep little ones busy and happy.

Firefighters’ Museum of Nova Scotia
Visit the Firefighters’ Museum in Yarmouth to discover the history of firefighting in this province. See the types of fire engines used from the 1800s to the 1930s. Marvel at antique hand-drawn and operated engines such as Canada’s oldest horse-drawn steam engine, an 1863 Amoskeag Steamer. Take the wheel of a 1933 Chev Bickle pumper and see collections of antique toy fire engines, shoulder crests, patches, and badges from fire departments around the world.

Pack your bags and take a trip on the rails at the Museum of Industry this March Break.
As you begin your trip, look up to see our G-scale train circling overhead in the Foyer. Meet Samson, an 1838 steam locomotive, Locomotive 151, an ingot train, Locomotive 5, a steam yard locomotive, and Albion, a steam locomotive dating from the 1850s. Can you find the bear in the woods at our interactive HO-scale model railway set in a detailed industrial landscape?

Maple syrup is truly a Canadian product and early spring is the only time that you can see it being made and experience the exquisite taste of taffy on snow. Nova Scotia is home to many sugar bushes, so you are never too far from maple syrup.

Ross Farm Museum
Enjoy winter on the farm! Meet farm animals and friendly staff, learn about the history of the farm, the community, and the families the settled here in the early 1800s as well as the skills and tools that helped make survival possible. If there is snow bring your coasting sleds, skis, and snowshoes to enjoy around the 60-acre farm or have fun building a snowman!
