Winter Walk
Families with younger children will love the chance to go for a winter walk on city maintained trails, which are shoveled and sanded. Check out the trail at Crystal Lake (4km loop), Muskoseepi Park (3 km loop), Pinnacle Ridge Trail (2.5 km loop), Westgate Trail (3 km loop), and Countryside South (4 km loop.)
Outdoor Skating
Lace up a pair of skates and enjoy some exercise outside in the fresh winter air. Saskatoon Island Provincial Park is located just 20 km west of Grande Prairie. Enjoy the wetlands, bird sanctuary, and closeness to nature. Muskoseepi Park
Muskoseepi Park is 1100 acres of parkland in the heart of Grande Prairie. Bring your skates to skate on the frozen pond, or rent snowshoes for adults and children at the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion. Tobboggan down Swanavon Thrill Hill located at 88 Avenue and 102 Street. There are also trail maps at the pavilion for cross country ski trails.

Crystal Lake
Crystal Lake is a great place to go for a winter walk. It’s just a short 7 minute drive from Grande Prairie. This 3.9 km trail loops around the wetland of Crystal Lake with picnic sites along the way and there is a public use dock with benches to enjoy the view.
