Enjoy spring sunshine in Lethbridge!

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden
The southern Alberta city is one of the ‘warmer’ spring spots in the province and it is an invitation to explore the river valley, the forested trails, and the city as a whole.
The city is starting outdoor programs and events again, while the natural side of Lethbridge becomes easier to explore. Plus, there are a few attractions within a short drive of the city to explore on your trip.
Hike around the Helen Schuler Nature Centre
There are things to see inside and outside the Helen Schuler Nature Centre in Lethbridge. The indoor pavilion and visitors’ centre is filled with interactive and educational exhibits and has a community art gallery. You can also travel up to the building’s living roof and patio for awesome views of the High Level bridge. There are three main trails outside in the river valley, which create about 3km, or 30 minutes of walking while watching for wildlife.
On the second Saturday in June, you can join for an outdoor festival by Helen Schuler Nature Centre that features fun, free, play-based activities by local community organizations.

Plan a City-wide Bike Ride
The city of Lethbridge is planned, in part, for cyclists. This means there are urban routes and more natural river valley routes, which can get you across the entire city. The city even has a bike boulevard on 7th Ave, where motorists are discouraged from using the road with low speed limits and diversions.
The city has an interactive map that lets you plan your trip around natural paths, multi-use paved paths, and city streets. You can also follow nearly the entire river valley, which runs through the centre of Lethbridge, on a bicycle.
