Things to Do on Christmas & Boxing Day in Moncton

I. Sledding Spots to Check Out

Centennial Park

Centennial Park is a popular spot for sledding since there are a few hills to pick from. You just have to wait for a good snow, then you can head out and find a steep hill to start sledding on. If you don’t like to sled, then you can hit the ice at the outdoor skating rink.

Rotary St-Anselme Park

This park is very popular in the summertime, but the fun does not stop when the snow comes. Allow with sledding, there is also skiing and snowshoeing trails for all skill levels. The snowshoeing trail connects to the Irishtown Nature Park. There is also an outdoor skating rink for you to enjoy this winter.

Winter Wonderland Park

This winter wonderland is not just for walking through anymore. If you are looking for a great time outdoors, you should definitely check out this park. The sliding hill is famous because it has a snowboard component. There is also an outdoor rink and a pathway that connects to the Dobson Trail.

II. Skating

Mapleton Park Rink

 

The Mapleton Park rink is located behind the Rotary Pavillion, which is the log structure used for meetings and gatherings. There are also paths in the park that you can take the family snowshoeing on.

Arthur-J.-Leblanc Centre

If you are looking to go skating inside this holiday break, the Arthur-J.-Leblanc Centre offers free public skates all week long.

Riverview Skate and Youth Centre

 

Enjoy skating at the Riverview Skate and Youth Centre in Dieppe.

Hussars Sports Centre

Make sure you bring a phone or camera and capture fond memories while your kids enjoy skating at the Hussars Sports Centre in Sussex.

III. Skiing and Trails

Poley Mountain

Hit the slopes at Poley Mountain, a family-friendly mountain that is around 10km from Sussex and is located between Moncton (an hour drive), Fredericton, and Saint John. Just make sure to check their website to see when the slopes are open.

Crabbe Mountain

A drive of two and a half hours gets you to Crabbe Mountain — famous for having the largest and highest vertical drop in the Maritimes. Skiers and snowboarders love Crabbe Mountain and its 32 alpine trails and glades. There is also over 30 km of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails for you to explore at your leisure.
