Tim Hortons Introduces New Sweet Treats Just in Time for Valentine’s Season

Tim Hortons is expanding its dessert lineup with two new baked treats now rolling out across Canada: a Custard Tart and a Pecan Butter Tart.

The additions build on last year’s Salted Caramel Butter Tart, which proved popular with customers looking for something sweet alongside their coffee or tea. This time, the focus is on familiar desserts with broad appeal.

The Custard Tart features a creamy custard filling baked into a flaky pastry shell, leaning into a classic style that’s well known in many parts of the world. According to the company, it’s meant to be rich without being heavy, an easy pairing with a hot drink.

The Pecan Butter Tart puts a twist on a Canadian staple. It keeps the gooey butter tart base but adds candied pecans on top, introducing a crunch and a slightly savoury contrast to the sweetness. It’s aimed at customers who already enjoy butter tarts but want a bit more texture and flavour.

Alongside the new menu items, Tim Hortons is also preparing to launch its seasonal “Share the Love” retail merchandise collection.

Starting February 2 at participating locations, customers will find mugs and drinkware with colour-changing designs, floral patterns, and bear-themed accents. Additional items, including apparel and accessories, will be available through the company’s online shop.

Together, the new tarts and merchandise arrive just ahead of Valentine’s Day, giving customers a few more ways to mark a coffee break or pick up a small gift, without much planning.
