This year we kick things off on Monday January 20th, 2020 with our Annual Supper & Song Featuring the recent Project Wild 1st place Champion Mariel Buckley presenting at the savory Heartwood Cafe. Ticket purchase for this event include your seat for the show and supper provided by Heartwood with a special menu for the event.

Tuesday we present Hannah Epperson making her Medicine Hat debut in our first VIP Kiln Event of the week. With her violin, loop pedal and voice, Hannah has the capacity to get lost in the design of her own worlds without ever leaving her audience behind. Born in Salt Lake City and raised in Vancouver, Hannah Epperson is a true traveler between worlds, both in an artistic and in a biographical sense. So it comes as no surprise that she calls the eclectic, exuberant melting pot New York City her home now.

Wednesday is Medicine Hat’s very own rising star, Kyle Church. Kyle is garnering tremendous attention and rightfully so with the phenomenal talent this young man has to captivate an audience. Kyle is marked with a passion for telling the truth and finding the beauty woven into every person’s story. Kyle’s laid back personality translates smoothly to the “easy listening” nature of his music, and his storytelling at live shows is usually equally as light and humorous as it is deep and thought-provoking.

Thursday’s VIP Kiln Event brings Leeroy Stagger for an intimate and acoustic evening, sharing songs of Love and Life. Fresh off a giant European Tour, this is a rare opportunity to see this Canadian Phenom up close and hear why everyone is following the music of this fine troubadour.

Friday Evening is the culmination of the Singer Songwriter night’s team throughout the year during which auditions were held to fill these coveted spots. The event is completely donation driven with all donations going back to the MHFMC to help support the arts in our community. These artists of all ages are mostly local talent that are sure to catch your attention.

Saturday of course is our Big Day!!!

With 4 stages running throughout the day, there is sure to many shows that are of interest to everyone.

with artists such as:

Brett Nelson
Logan Mckillop
Justine Vandergrift
Dave McCann
Patrick Spener of Cold Water Road
Two Late To The Party

……….And Many More to keep the music alive inside the Historic Medalta Potteries.

Let’s not forget about our Famous Headlining Gala, Saturday Evening.

Starting your Evening will be the ever talented and familiar sounds of Local Legend Derek Hintz but this time he’s bringing some of his friends from all over to get down with and get everyone warmed up and excited for the amazing evening.

Then comes the Traveling Sensation DRFTR, joining us from Ontario. DRFTR is the one-man creation of singer/songwriter Oscar Anderson-Shortt. His soaring, soulful voice is tinged with R&B his songs honest, intimate and from the heart. His music is best described as feely folk- all about emotion. From lost love to sharp political commentary with all life’s gritty and joyous bits in between, DRFTR taps into our common emotional landscape in a deeply thoughtful, melodic way.

Closing out the evening performances will be The Iconic and Legendary Maria Dunn. A true preserver of the spirit of folk music, twice Juno-nominated Maria Dunn is often compared to Woody Guthrie for her keen social awareness and her melodic, unvarnished songs about the lives of working men and women.
