For those enchanted by the antics of the beloved character Garfield, the Toronto Humane Society and Sony Pictures Canada are bringing the comic strip to life while highlighting the importance of animal adoption.
This three-day event is set to unfold at the Dufferin Mall in Toronto during Victoria Day weekend, from May 17th to May 19th, 2024, ahead of “The Garfield Movie” release in Canadian theaters on May 24th.
The venue, Centre Court at Dufferin Mall, will transform into a lively hub where attendees can interact directly with cats from the Toronto Humane Society that are in need of homes. The event will also offer face painting and other fun activities for the whole family.
The narrative of “The Garfield Movie” itself echoes the themes of unexpected adventures and the bonds of family, featuring the voices of Chris Pratt as Garfield and Samuel L. Jackson as Garfield’s father, Vic. This unlikely father-son duo embarks on a high-stakes heist, bringing both humour and excitement to Garfield’s usually laid-back life.
For those considering expanding their family with a pet, this event offers a perfect opportunity to connect with cats in need of adoption. While potential adopters can meet the cats and get acquainted, the formal adoption procedures will be carried out at the Toronto Humane Society’s main location on River Street.
