The WFW Backlot Film Studio in Pickering will transform into “The Haunting of Hexwood.”
Known for its role in acclaimed productions like “Reacher” and “The Umbrella Academy,” this 23-acre film studio, mimicking a modern-day town, is Canada’s largest. But this October, it’s not just about film.
The organisers of Hexwood promise a truly immersive haunted experience. With six main haunts, eerie stores, live entertainment, and even a town square bar, the fear factor is tangible.
Gourmands can relish at the haunted diner or choose from various food trucks, while those seeking insight into their future can consult psychic and tarot readers.
With limited tickets available, options range from general admission with onsite parkingat $39.95 to a VIP line bypass experience for $59.95.
For those relying on public transport, convenient shuttle services run from Mount Joy GO Station to Hexwood between 6:30 PM and 12:30 AM. Just ensure your ticket includes the shuttle option.

- On September 26th, the city of Pickering cancelled the permit for the Haunting of Hexwood Halloween Attraction, citing concerns that structures lack the necessary infrastructure, such as crowd control and fire safety measures, to ensure visitor safety.
- Per the latest social media post by the organsiers, they addressed the concerns raised by the city and are now running the event with “limited capacity,” following which the city granted permission.
