Ride the rails of terror this Halloween!

Train of Terror 2026 brings an unusually hands-on Halloween experience to Aspen Crossing, where you are not simply walking through a haunted house and heading home.
The 18+ attraction combines maze haunts with a moving train ride, food and drinks, and performers who may get much closer than you expect. Per the organisers, this is “not your run-of-the-mill haunted house,” and that is worth noting before you book. You will need to be comfortable with darkness, physical obstacles and interactive scares.
What to Expect: Train of Terror 2026
Your night begins with check-in at Aspen Crossing Station before you work through the haunted mazes and board the train. The release describes the experience as approximately two hours, including three maze haunts and a 1.5-hour train ride. Drinks and food are available for purchase, with three bars operating during the excursion. Ticket prices vary by day and time. Groups entering the haunts are limited to two or three people, so larger parties will need to split up.
Where the scares begin
Aspen Crossing is located 1 km west of Mossleigh, Alberta, about 35 km southeast of Calgary. Gravel parking is available between the Tavern and the Station, putting you within a short walk of check-in and nearby dining.
Extremely Interactive
This is an interactive haunt. Organisers state, “Our actors are specifically trained to grab, touch, drag, and scare you in an absolute, non-harmful way.” Guests cannot touch or strike actors. A mandatory waiver must be signed before entry, and refusing to sign means you will be denied admission without a refund.
You can opt out
If the scares become too much, staff can provide a safe word. Using it allows you to leave the haunt quickly and wait in a safe area until you can reconnect with your group.
Dress for movement
Parts of the attraction are outdoors, and the haunted train cars can get cold. You may need to step or climb over obstacles, slide and crawl, so closed-toe shoes and clothing that allows easy movement are recommended. High heels are discouraged.
Food, drinks
The Bergquist House Tavern and Aspen Outpost offer sit-down meals, with reservations recommended at 403-534-2129. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are sold during the experience, but outside alcohol is prohibited.
