T&T has closed T&T Supermarket at Calgary’s Pacific Place Mall after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The statement by the company’s CEO Tina Lee said, “The Covid-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly, and we are doing all that we can to protect our customers and our colleagues. I have pledged from the start, that T&T would be transparent and provide you the facts about what is happening in our stores.

Today, we have our first confirmed case of a colleague at the Pacific Place Mall Calgary Store, located at 999 36 St NE, Calgary, Alberta. The colleague was last working in the store on Saturday, March 21st. On Sunday the colleague stayed home feeling unwell and was tested positive on March 25th. We are maintaining close communication with the colleague, who reports feeling better without a fever.

We will proceed to have all staff in the Calgary Pacific Place Mall store stay home to monitor their health for 14 days. We are in contact with Public Health, and meanwhile, the store will be closed for deep cleaning and will re-open to the public on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

It is our duty and our pride to serve Calgary, and all the communities we operate in. I ask for your patience as we work to ensure our staff are all healthy before we re-open. While our store at Pacific Place Mall is closed, T&T Harvest Hills is operating business as usual and continues to serve Calgary. This is a difficult time for all of us, but you can count on us to do the right thing. ”
