Celebrate the holidays in all its glory!
As winter approaches, Cambridge gets ready to celebrate the popular seasonal event. Previously known as ‘Christmas in Cambridge‘, this is Cambridge’s annual winter festival that extends over a month.
Come out to the Old Galt train station at 10 Malcolm Street on Thursday, November 23rd. The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with the Winterfest pre-show. Volunteers will be on-site, ready to collect both monetary and food donations for the Cambridge Food Bank. Additionally, BBQ, popcorn, and festive items like hats will be available for purchase, with all the proceeds going to the food bank. Don’t miss out on Beavertails, as they will be present, serving delightful treats! Ammoye will be rocking the stage with live entertainment, and rumour has it that Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the one and only Willy Melt might just pop in for a visit!
At 4:00 p.m. the festively decorated CPKC Holiday Train will roll into town. Get your dancing shoes ready because from 4:15 to 4:45 p.m., performers Seaforth and Kiesza will treat you to a delightful concert with you tapping your feet and singing along to your favourite holiday tunes.
The popular Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is scheduled for November 24th. This is a modern twist on carolling, where you enjoy a walk while experiencing more than 30 light installations and listen to the music of Phil Kline played through speaker stations. The walk will start at 7 p.m. following opening remarks at the City Hall Civic Square at 6:45 p.m.

From December 1 till New Year’s Day, Central Park in Preston will be lit up with new and returning interactive light displays of ‘Winter Ice and Lights’. The park will be aglow every evening, offering a radiant backdrop for your leisurely exploration. This self-guided citywide experience is perfect for friends, families, or solo adventurers. Mark your calendar for a special evening on Thursday, December 7th. Enjoy the rhythmic beats of the Panwaves Steelband at 7:00 pm, followed by captivating performances by stunt ventriloquist Tim Holland at 7:30 pm. Savor KW Huron Beavertails and experience special visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Willy Melt. Don’t miss the chance to explore the charming shops along King Street as well.
Hespeler Village is the place to gather on Friday, December 1st. , The tree lighting will take place at the performance stage at Hespeler Town Hall at 6:30 pm. This enchanting event promises an array of delights, including the illumination of holiday lights, delectable culinary offerings, live musical performances, creative crafts, and much more! The entertainment lineup includes the voices of the Waterloo Region Police Chorus, and other acts yet to be unveiled.
The much-awaited award winning Cambridge Christmas Market opens on December 9 and 10 at the Cambridge City Hall. Get one-of-a-kind gifts and seasonal food at this shopping extravaganza showcasing more than 60 local artisans and crafters. Grab a bite to eat from the food trucks on site. Listen to live entertainment by local bands at the City Hall Civic Square.
New Year’s Eve skate at the Hespeler Arena is one of the top favourite things for families every year. Families can enjoy free skating for one hour from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Party Rockers rink will have dimmed lighting, while the Family rink will offer Disney music. Skates and helmet rentals, though limited, will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In addition to free skating, visitors to the Hespeler Arena can enjoy Turbo Max inflatable obstacle course, games and activities, live entertainment, and more. There will be 3 performances by Team T&J in the Beehive Hall at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 7 pm.
