This initiative kicks off with the launch of “First Wednesday Night Free” on May 1, where visitors can enjoy free general admission from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Moreover, the entire museum will welcome visitors free of charge over the coming weekend, on May 4 and May 5, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Tickets are required and can be obtained through the AGO’s website.
This weekend will feature the new exhibition “Making Her Mark: A History of Women Artists in Europe, 1400-1800,” which opened on April 30. This showcase, which displays over 230 works and is a collaboration with the Baltimore Museum of Art, offers a deep dive into the contributions of women artists through centuries.
Additional exhibitions set to open include “Moments in Modernism” on June 15, which features significant pieces from the AGO’s collection of Modern Art. Following closely on June 22, “Jinny Yu: at once” will showcase a solo exhibition of new works, including oil on aluminum paintings and works on paper. In July, “Bright Signs: Spotlight on Video Art” will introduce visitors to experiential video installations and dynamic sculptural works, further enhancing the AGO’s seasonal offerings.
