CNW Group/WESTJET, an Alberta Partnership
Starting May 29, 2025, the airline will operate up to six flights per week on this route, marking the first time WestJet has connected Halifax with Amsterdam.
Per the news release, this addition contributes to a significant expansion of WestJet’s transatlantic services from Nova Scotia, with a 97% increase in seat capacity compared to the previous year. The airline’s 2025 summer schedule will also include direct flights from Halifax to Paris, London, Dublin, and Edinburgh.
Flights departing Halifax will begin on May 29, with return service from Amsterdam starting on May 30.
The route will be serviced by Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, aligning with Schiphol Airport’s policy encouraging the use of quieter, more environmentally efficient planes. Schiphol will now have six Canadian destinations in its network.
Passengers will also benefit from WestJet’s codeshare agreement with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, allowing seamless connections to various European destinations through Amsterdam. The agreement provides a streamlined travel experience, including single check-in and through-checked baggage.
WestJet’s expanded summer schedule is now available for booking on the airline’s website.
