Edmonton 
SCREAM Edmonton is returning for its 27th year, and you can expect its largest edition so far.
What started in 1999 with John Acquaviva playing for roughly 1,000 people at the Polish Hall has grown considerably. For 2026, the Halloween festival takes over the Edmonton EXPO Centre on October 30 and 31, with more than 30,000 guests expected across two nights and four stages spread over more than 228,000 square feet.
Here is what you can expect from this year’s event:
- A packed electronic music lineup: You can move between performances from Tiësto, Alesso, Chase & Status, Gryffin, Sara Landry, Sullivan King, SVDDEN DEATH, Andrew Rayel, KREAM, Matroda, HNTR, Wax Motif and Odd Mob. Another 27 supporting DJs from across Canada will also perform during the weekend.
- Four different stages: Each stage will focus on different electronic music styles. Elm Street will feature progressive and future house, Camp Crystal Lake will cover dubstep, drum & bass and heavy bass, Monsterhaus will focus on bass house and tech house, while Sanctuary will include trance, hard techno, hard dance and hardstyle.
- A larger festival footprint: According to organizers, the Edmonton EXPO Centre setup will include wider walkways, improved ventilation, expanded amenities, indoor queueing and multiple entry lanes. The production will include large lighting rigs, laser displays, LED walls and what it describes as “stadium-level sound.”
- More than music: Music is only part of what you will see. More than 200 live performers, including dancers, aerialists, stilt-walkers and costumed characters, are planned throughout the venue, helping turn the two-night event into what organizers describe as both a dance festival and a “Halloween spectacle.”
