The City of Pickering and the Province of Ontario have recently completed the sale of 151 acres of land (745 and 815 Highway 7) within Pickering’s Innovation Corridor to FGF Brands for the development of a high-tech food manufacturing campus called the Wonderbrands Innovation Business Park.
FGF Brands is North America’s largest producer of fresh breads, rolls, croissants, fully baked muffins, and sweet goods. Some notable brands under FGF Brands include Wonder Bread, D’italiano, Country Harvest, Stonefire, ACE, and Casa Mendosa.
The first phase of the project will include three manufacturing plants and a distribution center, covering a gross floor area of over 1,000,000 square feet.

This phase will generate 1,000 new jobs, while the second phase is expected to create an additional 2,000 jobs. Once finished, the business park will be the largest food manufacturing campus in the Greater Toronto Area and one of Pickering’s biggest employers, offering 3,000 new jobs in total.
The Council has also approved FGF Brands’ draft plan of subdivision application and zoning by-law amendment application, allowing for campus construction.
This acquisition represents the largest transaction to date on the Seaton employment lands, which are owned by the Province through the Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI). The Seaton employment lands encompass over 800 acres of prestige employment land, specifically designed to support high-tech industries and job creation. Infrastructure Ontario (IO) completed the transaction on MOI’s behalf.
