June Music & Arts Festivals in Calgary

There are a handful of exciting music and arts festivals taking over weekends in June. Spring in Calgary means celebrations of all things arts, culture, and music. Explore dance and musical performances, new foods, markets, DJ sets, and more.

  • The Annual Calgary Ukrainian Festival (June 3-4) will be a great way to explore the culture through dance shows, singing performances, and Ukrainian food or artisan vendors.
  • The Lilac Festival (June 4) takes place along 4th Street in Calgary for one day of local performances, artists, and food vendors.
  • Calgary’s Way Out West Fest (June 10-11) celebrates Western Canadian arts and culture through a vendor market, and an art sale and auction.
  • The Sled Island Music & Arts Festival (June 21-25) features an eclectic lineup of artists with genres like comedy, EDM, rock, folk and more.

Zoo Brew

Join your date and the Calgary Zoo for an evening brew! Zoo Brew’s next event is on June 3rd and will feature over 30 different local breweries through sampling. Chef attended food stations will also be on site for guests, with beer and food sampling included in your ticket price.

Get an early start on the lazy river days with the rentals companies in Calgary that are now open for the season. Tandem rafts and kayaks are a fun way to spend a date on the water as you enjoy the river and city scenery.

Plan a Father’s Day Date

Calgary parents may be looking to Father’s Day events for treating their partners to a date. There will be more and more restaurants opening up reservations for Father’s Day dining events in Calgary. Below are a few restaurants who have already announced their events.

  • Heritage Park are now taking reservations for their special Father’s Day Brunch in the Gasoline Alley Museum.
  • Enjoy a brunch date at the Safari Lodge of the Calgary Zoo for their annual Father’s Day buffet.

 

Watch the Stampeders at McMahon

The official 2023 CFL season will start for the Calgary Stampeders on June 8th and at home! They’ll play the BC Lions to start the season, with the next home game on June 24th versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The tickets can give you a good range of price options for your football date on top of the exciting sports entertainment.

In Calgary, you and your date have many ways to enjoy a date on a patio. You can head up to the rooftops, or closer to the Bow River for pretty views. Below are a few good places to start when considering how to make a fun patio date in Calgary.

  • Calgary’s Inglewood neighbourhood has a good amount of local breweries, many of which have patios. You can head to Inglewood for an evening of tasting and sampling on various brewery patios.
  • Find a riverside spot. The Bow River runs past popular dining neighbourhoods of Calgary with places for park and water views. After your meal, explore the river valley’s extensive trails, or watch the sunset over the Bow and Rockies.
  • Calgary’s exceptional views and food can be enjoyed with a rooftop patio experience.

 

Outdoor Yoga Events in Calgary this June

Enjoy some moments of peace and relaxation together with some upcoming outdoor yoga events in Calgary. As a date, a yoga session can be a great pre-meal outing before brunch or lunch.
