The city of Edmonton has approved Lime and Bird licences to operate ride-sharing services through to December 31, 2023.
This year, a fleet of 1,500 e-scooters and 400 e-bikes will be available at designated parking spaces throughout the city.
- shared pathways
- bike lanes
- streets with a 50 km/h speed limit or lower.
They are not allowed on sidewalks and park trails not maintained by the City.
Edmonton has a Discover YEG Map through which users can find the safest and most convenient route through the city.
Riders need not return e-scooters and e-bikes to the same location as they can leave the bikes within the designated usage areas by parking the bikes in a way that does not block pathways, streets or access to a home, business, city facility or other destination.
Those who want to use an e-bike or e-scooter should create an account with Lime and Bird and use their apps to locate, unlock and pay for the time shared rides are used.
