Get ready to party on the Halifax Waterfront!
TD Halifax Jazz Festival has announced the first slate of artists for the 39th annual festival, which runs from July 9 to 14.
Among the highlights is the performance by Fitz and the Tantrums, a multi-platinum indie pop sensation, on the TD Main Stage on July 10. Their repertoire includes hits like “Handclap” and “Out of My League,” which have garnered billions of streams worldwide.
The festival continues on July 11 with the iconic Emmylou Harris, a 14-time Grammy winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, known for her groundbreaking songwriting and impactful career in the music industry.
On July 12, the stage will be electrified by blues rocker Matt Andersen and The Big Bottle of Joy, alongside the soulful duo The War and Treaty, showcasing a mix of blues, Americana, rock, and soul.
St. Matthew’s United Church will host jazz prodigies, including guitarist Julian Lage on July 12 and pianist Emmet Cohen on July 13, both celebrated for their innovative contributions to jazz music. The Carleton will feature a range of international talents, from Ukrainian singer Maryna Krut on July 11 to the JUNO-winning group Avataar on July 12, and the acclaimed Laura Anglade on July 13, offering evenings filled with diverse jazz and world music.

The TD Halifax Jazz Festival, initially known as the Atlantic Jazz Festival, holds the title of the oldest jazz festival and the largest summer event in Atlantic Canada. Recognized as a Hallmark Event by the Halifax Regional Municipality, the festival draws up to 65,000 visitors, engages 400 volunteers, and employs more than 350 local musicians.

General Admission has three ticket options at the TD Main Stage: Bleacher Seating, Stagefront Seating, and Premium Section: $75 & up
Bleacher Seating offers an above-the-crowd seat, with the ability to come and go from the dance floor. Stagefront Seating offers a close-up view of artists, with the added benefit of bar service directly to your seat. The Premium Section offers access to an area with select seating and high-top tables, and a private bar and washroom.
Tickets for St. Matthew’s concerts: $45.
Tickets for The Carleton performances: $20.
Standard passes: $200 and offer access to all shows at the festival, including General Admission access to the TD Main Stage, subject to capacity.
