This March Break, Downtown Halifax becomes a hub of activity and adventure for families looking for a mix of entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences.
For those planning their March Break adventures, a special offer is available to make exploring even more accessible. Thanks to a collaborative effort between Downtown Halifax, Downtown Dartmouth, and Halifax Transit, the Alderney/Halifax ferry service will be completely free of charge for a limited time.
From Monday, March 11, through to Saturday, March 16, everyone can take advantage of the free ferry service between 11 am and 2 pm. This period is perfect for planning day trips that combine the scenic beauty of a ferry ride with the exploration of Downtown Halifax and Dartmouth’s unique attractions and venues.
From attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade to snapping a picture in front of the giant JUNO letters, there is plenty to do in Downtown Halifax during March Break. Visit the Halifax Citadel, explore the Canadian Museum of Immigration with free entry, cheer Halifax Mooseheads and dine at kid-friendly restaurants.
Cross waters and explore Alderney Landing in downtown Dartmouth, hike Shubie Park looking for signs of spring and take some snaps of the various murals adorning the town.
Free Alderney/Halifax Ferry Service March Break
What: Downtown Halifax and Downtown Dartmouth, in partnership with Halifax Transit, have collaborated to offer people of all ages the opportunity to have a March Break adventure on both sides of the harbour by offering free Alderney/Halifax ferry service.
When: Monday, March 11 to Saturday, March 16, between 11 am – 2 pm.
