Summer in Durham Region means plenty of outdoor fun and a variety of food fests!

Oshawa Rotary Ribfest, organized by the Rotary Club of Oshawa, is back this weekend at Lakeview Park.
The festival will feature mouthwatering ribs from Billy Bones BBQ, Bone Daddy’s BBQ, Sticky Fingers BBQ & Company, Camp 31, Silver Bullet Bar B Q, and BBQ Hawgs Gone Wild.
In addition to ribs there are food options like chicken, salads, coleslaw, baked beans, pizza, french fries, doughnuts, ice cream, roast corn, sweets & treats and more from vendors like Donkey Kone, Grill n Thril Kabob, Tiny Tim Donuts, Slushy Bear, Poutine Krazee, ICEE, Mr. Kettle Corn Sweet & Salty, Ontario Corn Roasters, Summer Time Lemonade. The free Kids Zone features Pika Pika Parties’ creative face painting, Chester’s Wacky Riders, midway by Astro Amusements and more!
You can find merchandise from local artisans and enjoy live performances from a diverse lineup, including TwoForTheShow, Highway 57, Alexa Goldie, Cold Shot, and Loonie Tunes on Friday; family favourite Sharon, Lois & Bram singalong, Wolves on Tape, Xtrax, and The Yacht Rock Show on Saturday; and Sunday sets from Mid Century Modernes, Bad Thieves, Voices of the 80’s, and Ty Wilson.
Admission to the Ribfest is free, and proceeds from the Ribfest go back into the community for various charity projects. You can also support the Rotary Club of Oshawa by testing your aim in Dunk Tank, where you can dunk some of Oshawa’s most well-known personalities. Pricing is $2.00 for one ball or $5.00 for three.

Parking:
There are designated parking lots clearly marked along Simcoe Street.
Avoid parking hassles by using the free shuttle service to Oshawa Rotary Ribfest.
The shuttle offers non-stop transportation during the hours: Friday: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. (with two buses from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.), and Sunday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Pick-up and drop-off locations are at the Grass Parking Lot (Westside of Lakeview Park, near Kluane Ave. & Waterfront Trail) and the North Parking Lot (Harbour Road & Simcoe St. S), with drop-offs at the Ribfest entrance on Lakeview Park Ave.
