Welland FloatFest

If you want to go lazy river floating in a festive atmosphere, head to the Niagara Falls Region this Sunday for the annual Welland Float Festival.

The Welland Float Fest has been a fun family event since 2016 and is free for all ages. It has been voted the Best Local Tourist Attraction and Best Local Festival by the Reader’s Choice Awards, along with many other awards.

The 2017 Welland Floatfest attempted and won the Guinness World Record for the Longest line of water inflatables. Festival goers connected together to form a continuous line of personal floats in many shapes and sizes to achieve a record-breaking measurement of 165.74 m (543 ft 7 in).

If you are interested in participating in this year’s festival, you can join the floating caravan on your very own floatie. The festival features live entertainment throughout the day, along with a variety of delicious treats available for purchase. You can enjoy a wonderful picnic on the banks of the canal or cool down in the water. Kids will have a great time in the water and on the bouncy castles.

There will be an industrial-sized inflation station at the event, allowing you to inflate your floaties. The event is only for inflatables.

If you want to purchase inflatables, Canadian Tire Welland, a major sponsor of the festival, has a fantastic assortment of inflatables available for purchase leading up to the event.
