Hamilton’s Winterfest is on now until March 6. With live musical acts, theatre, art, food vendors, installations, lights, this three week festival is all about connecting with your community. The Festival Hub is located on the beautiful grounds of Auchmar House, a city-owned heritage site.
The Winterfest Hub will host Ellevator on February 26th as part of the Signature Concert Series. These series of concerts taking place on Saturday evenings will see the bands playing inside in a custom-designed geodesic dome, while you can safely watch them play through a crystal clear plexi.
In addition to the signature concert that are ticketed, Winterfest will also host over 30 free live musical performances inside the Music Dome. From February 24 to 27, take in the wintery world of icebergs, lights and music with a contemporary dance performance by Aeris Korper dance company.

Sample new flavours and artisanal offerings from an eclectic mix of food vendors at the Cogeco Food Zone. Enjoy an Iceberg Expedition to four massive inflatable icebergs created by local artist Tanis MacArthur with colour-changing LED lights inside. Also at the Hub are three 22-foot-wide geodesic domes covered with the work of Mi’kmaq artist Jordan Bennett that serve as the site of Winter Market domes. Inside the dome are a diverse mix of artists, crafters and artisans from Hamilton. While here, check out the newly unveiled mural The Journey by local Black artist Israel A. Crooks celebrating the vibrancy and culture of the Black community in Hamilton.
Overheard at various locations at the Hub you can see a flock of oversized geese suspended thirty feet in the air! These inflated structures with LED lights will travel along a seventy-five foot-long flight path in the sky.
If you are going on February 26th, grab a cup of hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and hot apple cider at the annual Hot Chocolate in the Park event. Previously scheduled for February 17th, the event was rescheduled to February 26th following unfavourable weather conditions. If weather cooperates, you can enjoy a spin on the ice, so don’t forget to grab your skates when you go.
Running February 27 to March 5 is the Hamilton Fashion Week. The Fashion Gala Show will feature top designers from Hamilton and Canada.
