Air Transat is adding Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to its winter 2026–2027 schedule, marking another step in the airline’s expansion in Spain.

The new service will run from December 12, 2026, to April 4, 2027, with weekly flights departing Saturdays from Montreal and Sundays from Toronto. The destination, located in Spain’s Canary Islands, becomes the airline’s fifth Spanish market.

Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Air Transat, said the route reflects growing interest from travellers looking for warm-weather destinations that also offer a European experience. He pointed to the region’s mild climate, beaches and food culture as key draws.

The addition also deepens Air Transat’s presence in the Iberian market. The carrier already operates year-round flights to Madrid and Málaga, while Barcelona has recently shifted to year-round service as well. Valencia, which was previously extended into winter operations, will continue with weekly Friday flights throughout the season.

In Quebec City, the airline is introducing another winter route with weekly service to Rio Hato, Panama. Flights from Jean Lesage International Airport will operate on Sundays between December 20, 2026, and April 25, 2027.

Air Transat said the Panama route responds to continued demand from travellers in the Quebec City region and supports the diversification of its network from the airport.

Bookings for the winter 2026–2027 program are now open, with additional announcements expected in the coming weeks.

The airline noted that both new routes remain subject to regulatory approvals and airport slot availability, and schedules may change.
